Number of people on the TF2 server

I have noticed lately that not many people have been on the TF2 server. In March there were constantly 20-30 people on until around 2 AM EST even on weekdays. Lately there have been a max of around 16 players online, often only around 10, and emptying out very early compared to before.

So this has got me asking: what has caused you and/or others you know to not play on the server much lately? Do you have complaints? What do you think can be done to improve the server?

I lagged slightly frequently pre-move but now it is quite frankly a sleeping elephant on a narrow road for me if the lag ever goes back to normal then HALLELUJAH!!!!

I get on but as deadpool said, sense we have lost that large spark of players on most of the time, I end up just playing DC Universe or any other game. However, I still play tf2 and play on other servers though.

Whatever, but as you know, the server is currently being worked on and/or transferred to another city. Probably Chicago,  since its more centralized.

Finishing up high school for me, plus my brother always gets on before I ever can.

Also being sidetracked by other games and hobbies.

When I get my laptop expect to see two Delos in the server.

EDIT: Actually, Warframe. I find it way more interesting now.

Try deleting the map from your maps folder and getting onto the server. Sometimes that can fix the issue

Thanks, but I fixed the problem by moving my Steam folder back to my Program Files directory

Map update is in the works. dont have a date yet, maybe in the next couple weeks. Theres a lot to be done and I dont have a lot of time. Hopefully, people will start playing the server again once its updated and optimized to run better.

Occasional lag but the main problem for me was my own computer is a piece of shit and my stupid little brother got on his minecraft and downloaded stuff without supervision and got malware on it. I've only just now got it back. and plus I lost the IP to it and can't find it.

Well the server has changed to a new ip, 173.234.63.58:27016 . right now its pretty dead, though it was going alright for a while, I am currently working on a map update for it so hopefully things will pick up again. Ill be adding to the tunnels, adding more of them so not just big open hallways for snipers, Im doing alot of cosmetic stuff like a new skybox and some new textures. changing some things into models and just making everything look better. Im also messing around with the idea of territorial control the team can control an area and try to take back other ones. It wouldnt end the game since its deathmatch, it would just keep going on so you can do something else if you want. Ive removed the annoying sentries at the bases entrances and I WILL be doing optimizations so it will run better on slower computers, the current map has no optimizations on it since it was only a test map.

Thanks Static. and just to throw my 2 cents in I liked the sentries on the entrances. it helps against spawn camping on both levels. if anything I think you should put 1 or 2 in the underground to help against said spawn campers. and more tunnels would be great. to be honest I liked the small tunnels from before. they made the underground more intense with the feeling that a heavy, pryo or sentry could be right around the corner.

Yeah i know when I walked through the first tunnel, there might be a sentry nest around the corner. It was pretty fun and I miss that as well, but larger tunnels just means more skill shots unlike sending a rocket down a hallway and not being able to dodge it. It was more intense and I aim to bring that back somehow. As for the sentries, there's really no point of them since there are multiple ways out of the spawn and people including myself hate them alot anyways. Like when you get anywhere near the base it will kill you, its quite annoying.
