B) avast! Product Installation Instructions
-----------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have already installed the avast! Pro Antivirus  on your PC or if you are upgrading from the avast! Free Antivirus,  please go directly to step 5.

1) If you have not done so already, please download the installation file from the following URL:

2) To install the program (once downloaded), double click the downloaded  file and follow the on-screen instructions. We recommend that any other  applications are closed before installing the program.

3) After installation, you will be prompted to restart your computer -  please do so, remembering to save any work you may have left open in  other applications.

4) After your system has restarted, you will see the orange avast! icon  in your system tray, near the clock (on the bottom right-hand side of  the screen).

5) Together with this message you have also received a copy of your  license file. Download your file and save it now to a secure folder on  your hard drive and create a backup copy of it in case of hard drive  failure. This file is necessary to activate your avast! Pro Antivirus.

6) To insert your license, double click on the License.avastlic file and  your license will be inserted into the avast! program automatically and  your avast! is activated.

Alternatively, you may insert your license file manually by following the instructions below:

Double click on the avast! icon and choose the "Maintenance" tab from  the program interface. Click on the "Subscription" option and then click  on "Insert license file". Navigate to the license file saved in step 5)  and then click OK. Your license file will be inserted automatically to  activate the program.

NOTE: Your license is valid from the day of purchase not the day of activation.

LUCKY AND NICE!, that's an epic free random present ha, even if avast is not completely the best I still like it and have used the free version sense 4.8. The stuff available in the Pro version is useful still I would think so that's cool. I wonder what the person who bought avast and used the wrong email is thinking right now LOL!..

Cold Assassin

Too bad avast sucks, and I have an unlimited licenses of Symantec Endpoint Protection!

It's what they use on base, so I would say it's pretty good.

Lil_tankk

Hand over one of the licences then might wanna download it and whats a good firewall oo and im in vent

Cold Assassin

SEP (symantec endpoint protection) comes with a built in firewall.

Tetra

Avast does not suck :), but eh opinions are opinions. I find it to be the best protection if you are a tech person like me and know how not to be infected to begin with. I would admit though that endpoint is a good protection though.

Lil_tankk

i had avast i had more then 45 virus and with avg it took them down well and true depends on how u use it

leviathan

If you really want to keep virus's off you need to get multiple antivirus programs just to be safe.
To be truly sane, one must first be insane.

Cold Assassin

I believe that would be over kill! If you want to keep viruses off, only download stuff that are from a good source, and watch what you surf.

You should also use ad blockers like (ad block plus) its an extension for Firefox and chrome.

You should also use ccleaner to remove temporary files and such from your computer daily since that's where viruses will hide.

Last, set up a schedule to scan your computer. And always run ccleaner before you scan that way the scanner wont have that much more to scan through.

And if you can I recommend using malware bytes anti malware pro edition, it works well.

Flapjack

in fairness cold i always run a ccleaner every weak :P

Cold Assassin

I have ccleaner run everytime my computer starts.

I use Malwarebyte and a Norton antivirus.

Malware bytes is indeed a good combatant to clean out a system of malware.

Ambrotus

i know avast isnt the greatest, but i was in need of an anti virus and it just popped into my e-mail.

there's no way so send it back to the one who fucked up. so i used it.

but i'll take a look at the one cold mentioned.

also, has any one used nod32?

Bighead2496

using multiple anti virus isnt good, they will recognize the other antiviruses are viruses... i know from experince, my dad tried it.

DragonMasterNYC

I used to use nod32 a long time ago as well AVG.

Tetra

I once got to play with nod32, it is one of the great ones of the many available. But, I have always favored avast sense 4.8, if avast ever gives me troubles in the future. I will switch to nod32 or the other top anti-viruses. Although, for myself I am secure with where I go, so I rarely ever run into an infection of any kind.

DragonMasterNYC

I actually jumped from Avast to Nod32 then to AVG and finally to Malwarebytes and Endpoint.
