Sony has made a prototype head mounted 3D visor.

For all those that saw the .hack//Sign anime series years ago and thought why can't we game like this, well guess what we soon can.
 
Sony has designed a headset with adjustable 720p OLED screens (1280x720 0.7-inch) and 5.1 surround sound. Only downside is it has no microphone, but who knows since it's just a prototype. The system can run in 3D as well as a 2D mode. Now the price tag is going to be around $783, but for the experience of a 750 inch screen 20 meters way with built in surround you can beat the price. Just a 60 inch 3D screen from Sony costs over $5000 and that doesn't even include the surround sound system.

Now this was showed to us at CES 2011, but Sony is actually going to make it.
